We chose to come here to watch the eclipse, and it was a great choice! It is absolutely beautiful here! It was not to crowded either. But be aware of one thing.... tiny little leaches in the lake. They were smaller then the width of my fingernail. We had to take or dogs to a dog wash after because they had quite a few, but none on us. Still worth it though.
Nice small lake. Completely primitive which is what we like and you can pull the boat right up to your spot.
Pretty area. Clear water. Nice place for a picnic lunch.
Definitely had no problem in finding a spot on the lake side, most likely because it was in September. Do not recommend camping in the shade near the water because of the mosquitoes and do not recommend camping near the entrance due to the trains that pass by during the night, a continuous clunk clunk all night long. Would have stayed another night but due to the trains I got absolutely no sleep. Why 4 stars, liked the serenity and picturesque of the area around the lake.
